Personal
I am a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeion based in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk. I specialise in hip surgery and provide care for patients with issues ranging from hip injuries and disorders to patients suffering from complications post hip surgery.
My initial Foundation Training was completed in Wessex Deanery, with my Higher Specialty Training in Trauma and Orthopaedics in Wales. During my training I took part in fellowships in Ghent and Bruges, Belgium and Endo-Klinik, Hamburg, Germany. I later completed FRCS (Tr & Orth) in 2017, and was appointed to the specialist register in 2018. I then went on to South West London Elective Orthopaedic Centre (SWLEOC), British Hip Society funded Fellowship in St George's Hospital, London and the Princess Elizabeth Orthopaedic Centre in Exeter, where I even further honed my practice of complex primary and revision hip arthroplasty.
Work and Research
In 2019, I was appointed Hip Specialist Surgeon in West Suffolk Hospital, Bury St Edmunds. I am now the lead for Hip Fracture care in West Suffolk Hospital, and remain involved in developing and furthering our hip fracture services.
I am am actively involved in research and education, being a keen educator, clinical and educational supervisors for junior doctors. I also have a Postgraduate Diploma in Medical Education from Cardiff University, and am actively involved in clinical research related to the hip with numerous publications, both national and international.
I provide appointments for all NHS patients who wish to be seen at St Edmunds Hospital, alongside private health insurance holders and self-funding patients.
